Winter is definitely back! This is the time of year when this southern girl fights hard to not fly the coup and migrate south for the winter months.
And I am also back. Back home. I have been in Colorado the last few weeks spending time with my brand new granddaughter, Kinsley.
She is such a miracle — born at 28 weeks weighing 2lbs 8oz, she is now 10lbs 6oz. I really enjoyed our snuggle time these past few weeks. Praise God for his loving care of this sweet little one and her parents. It was terribly hard to say goodbye to Kinsley, but I’m hoping she will be paying us a visit to West Point soon.
So now that I am back home I have lots to catch up on. First of all — thank you’s. Thank you to all those who filled in and carried on during my absence, keeping things running smoothly and uninterrupted. I am very grateful to have an employer, co-workers, and friends, who understand the importance of family, who were willing to fill the gap during this time I needed to be with my daughter and her new family.
Feel free to stop by the youth ministry office any time! Stay tuned for upcoming information on Confirmation parent night, Edge Christmas party and Edge retreat. And for goodness sake, STAY WARM!
Blessings to you, dear friends.
The next Edge Night is Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Edge Room, St Francis Center. Don’t miss it!!!
Due to the weather, YDisciple is cancelled tonight.
I have reserved 12 spots for Life Teen camp in Georgia this summer for July 25-30. This camp is for students in grades 9-12 (includes this year’s 8th graders and graduating seniors).
I took a group of students for the first time last year and it was an incredible experience. Two former students, Austin Kreikemeier and Amanda Oligmueller, live and work in Georgia for Life Teen now, and it’s awesome to get to see them there when we attend camp. Contact one of the students who attended last year, Lauren Manley, Tate Dorcey, Jack Baumert, Luke Baumert, Blake Anderson, Rebekah McGill, Marcos Osorio, Jessica Hunke, to find out just how awesome it was!
The trip is costly, because of the distance, approximately $1200 per student. We will do fundraisers to raise as much money as we can for the trip.
Any students interested in going, please let me know ASAP. I need to collect $100 deposit from each participant asap to reserve the spot. Deposits are non-refundable. The remaining funds are not due until later in the school year.
This is truly an amazing opportunity. Please consider joining us. Let me know if you have any questions.
